Barn Swallows

In our hayloft we have a barn swallow nest.  This year we have had two broods of babies. The first brood had 3 babies and all safely fledged. The second brood had 6 chicks. One fell out of the nest and sadly died, but the other 5 all made it. On August 10 they all jumped out of the nest! We put a horse rug on the ground and they lived on it for a day. Today they all fledged! They still need to get used to their wings but they are doing well otherwise.
