Green Heron chicks

This week swallows aren't the only baby birds that fledged! 2 weeks ago 3 green heron chicks hatched. We went to see them and they were so cute and fuzzy! A couple days ago they started to fledge. Yesterday Bridget went to see them and she saw one up high in a tree, but the rest were still in the nest. Green herons are rare in Vancouver, so it is great that they are nesting here. Apparently they nested here last year but we didn't learn about them until this year, so we didn't see them.
